My Approach




I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I work primarily with women, getting in touch with her body’s needs because I understand that life happens and her needs will evolve. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.

I work with these woman on tuning into themselves. We live in a world where the female energy has been not only damaged, but stifled and our mother earth has been abused; raped of her resources even. This energy is present with in all mothers, soon to be mothers, and women. Even in males, the female energy exists to bring balance. I work with Women, and people in general, to bring balance into their lives on and off of the plate. One of these ways is to incorporate more self love and appreciation.

I work to bring awareness to the interrelatedness of what is on your plate, and what you feel you deserve to eat. When you rush around all day getting things done and carry a "I'll eat when I can" mentality, often skipping breakfast, you're saying to the body that its nourishment isn't a huge priority. Other things are more important and your body isn't getting the love it would if you placed more importance on adequately fueling it. On the other hand, If you're constantly snacking and over indulging, perhaps you're masking a hole or specific hurt. The message then becomes "I don't value what you have to say, instead of acknowledging your feelings and working towards healing, I'm going to pacify you, constantly cover it with food so you won't have time or space to feel it." This, as we all know, is a very common mentality that prevents us from receiving the proper healing to thrive. 

Essentially what I do as The Barefoot Health Coach is to really bring awareness to what a client is eating, and why. We get to the root of their weight or dietary circumstances like lack of energy by exploring circumstances past and present that took a role in shaping them and their habits. Maybe a client without energy is allowing it to be leeched out by others, always taking care of others' needs and not prioritizing her own. This is very common and by identifying it, then she can continue to bring awareness while it's going on. By seeing it for what it is and healing that hurt, it nearly falls away. Then, we bring in some whole clean foods which symbolize what she needs vibrationally. More living foods with that raw energy, water to ease her flow from stagnation, greens to encourage self love and healing within the heart chakra, meanwhile on a physical level she receives more energy from those foods and going on that run or doing that dance she loves is now something she feels more deserving to spend her energy on. These things that nourish us off the plate also help us heal physically because we're on that frequency of taking care of self, being willing to prioritize our own wellness and the body responds accordingly.

As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.

Integrative Nutrition Plate†

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!

Primary Food†

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.


Bio-IINdividuality*

The concept of Bio-IINndividuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.

Crowding Out††

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.

 

Deconstructing Cravings††

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
